New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)

The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) offers several immigration categories through which prospective immigrants can apply for Canadian permanent residence. These categories are designed to attract individuals with the skills and experience needed in the province. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, the NBPNP accepts applications under the following immigration categories:

  1. Express Entry Labour Market Stream: This stream is aligned with the federal Express Entry system, which manages applications for three economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for one of these programs and express an interest in living and working in New Brunswick may be nominated by the province.
  2. Skilled Workers with Employer Support: This category is for individuals who have received a full-time, permanent job offer from a New Brunswick employer. The job offer must meet specific criteria, and the employer must demonstrate efforts to recruit Canadian citizens or permanent residents before offering employment to a foreign national.
  3. Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream: This stream targets graduates from recognized New Brunswick post-secondary institutions who have started or acquired a business in the province. Eligible candidates must have operated their business for at least one year and intend to settle permanently in New Brunswick.
  4. Entrepreneurial Stream: This stream is for experienced business owners or senior managers who want to establish, purchase, or make a substantial investment in a business in New Brunswick. Successful applicants are required to actively participate in the day-to-day management of the business.
  5. Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP): The AIPP is a partnership between the federal government and the Atlantic provinces, including New Brunswick. Under this program, eligible candidates can apply for permanent residence through one of the three streams: Atlantic High-Skilled Program, Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program, or Atlantic International Graduate Program. Job offers from designated employers in New Brunswick are required for each stream.

Please note that the information provided is based on my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, and the NBPNP program may have undergone changes or updates since then. It’s always best to refer to the official website of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program for the most up-to-date and accurate information.

New Brunswick, located in Canada’s Maritime Provinces, offers a range of opportunities for immigrants looking for employment and a lower cost of living compared to larger provinces. The province is known for its beautiful lakes, rivers, and outdoor recreational sites, offering a high quality of life. New Brunswick is home to both small towns and larger cities such as Fredericton, Saint John, and Moncton.

Prospective immigrants with the skills and experience sought by the province can apply for a provincial nomination through the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP). The program offers several immigration streams to cater to different categories of applicants. Here are the immigration streams available as of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021:

  1. Express Entry Stream: This stream allows the NBPNP to select candidates from the federal Express Entry pool who meet New Brunswick’s specific labor market and demographic needs. To be eligible, candidates must have an active Express Entry profile, a Job Seeker Validation Code or proof of enrollment in a PGWP-eligible program, be residing in New Brunswick, and have valid language test scores.
  2. Skilled Workers Stream: This category is open to individuals who have received a full-time, permanent job offer from an eligible New Brunswick employer. Applicants must intend to reside in the province, provide a letter of support from the employer, meet educational requirements, be within the age range of 19-55, and have valid language test scores.
  3. Business Immigration Stream: This stream is designed for individuals who plan to own and actively manage a business in New Brunswick. Applicants must have an eligible connection to the province, meet educational requirements, demonstrate a minimum personal net worth of at least $600,000 CAD, be within the age range of 22-55, and have valid language test scores.
  4. Strategic Initiative Stream: This stream targets Francophone workers who have the skills, education, and work experience to contribute to the province’s economy. Applicants must intend to reside in New Brunswick, have a qualifying connection to the province, meet educational requirements, possess the required settlement funds, be within the age range of 19-55, and have valid language test scores in French.

In addition to these streams, there is also the Critical Worker Pilot, introduced in November 2022, which allows designated employers in New Brunswick to recruit foreign talent to address their workforce needs. Furthermore, New Brunswick participates in the Atlantic Immigration Program, along with three other Atlantic provinces, to recruit foreign workers and address labor market shortages in the region. Job offers from designated employers are required for this program.
